What is the current price for a pound of recycled aluminum?

What is the current price for a pound of recycled aluminum offered in Maryland?

From WikiAnswers a generic answer:

The price of aluminum, like other metals or scrap metals, changes on a daily basis. Try http://www.scrapmetalpricesandauctions.com for current scrap metal prices.

Today's Nationwide price according to http://www.metalprices.com/

Aluminum .8872 .9158 1.0047

WOW!!! that's what the people we sell our aluminum to get????

Well, they ARE doing all the processing, cleaning up the non aluminum metal that always is screwed into or riveted into what we pull out of the dumpster.

Here's a price list from a recycler in Spokane Washington:

I've been getting almost double that here in Frederick Maryland...

Here's a post from a major Market Watch industry analyst blog:
http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/aluminum-price-forecasts-span-wide/story.aspx?guid={E997AA9B-2EC8-41D1-BCEA-96BD0A458666}

Note this is a 2007 article:

Aluminum on an upswing?

Price forecasts span a wide range, hinge on China

A day after Alcoa Inc. (AA:
alcoa inc com, the world's largest aluminum producer, predicted continued strong demand for the metal this year amid tight supply, analysts took a second look at their own forecasts - and wondered if they looked too light.

A lot depends on China.
The country, which has been driving global demand for aluminum, has also been building up its production facilities. Last year, it restarted several plants turning out alumina, the granular raw material used to make aluminum, and ramped up aluminum output.

After that steep increase, China's production growth could cool this year

The plain fact of the matter is that the price paid depends on the price the scrap processors can sell aluminum for... and no one I've found wants to post current prices in Maryland.

The price paid is too volatile... it can change before a day is ended.

When one goolges for 'what is the price of aluminum in maryland' all one gets is 2 year old or 4 year old posts.

I'll be visiting my local scrap recycler soon and post today's prices, but those can change before I even get home from the scrap yard.

I'm not going to reveal where I go... I was asked to NOT post articles about my favorite scrap yard... Not sure why, maybe they're just paranoid?
