I drove a recycling truck here the very first day this place opened.
It was 1990 and I worked for United Disposal in the Gaithersburg Airpark. That trash company has changed names several times.

First it was United Disposal, then Genstar, then I can't remember, now it's Waste Management.

BTW, way back then I not only did I not scrap for cash, I don't think anybody did.

The scrap for cash, or digging in the dumpster idea didn't come to me until I moved to Baltimore and hauled in a 40 yard container full of scrap metal.

I FREAKED out to have Baltimore Scrap hand me $400 cash, not a check, CASH

That started the ball rolling
